Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

When considering the Samsung ML 1710PD printer, several of its best qualities will quickly come to mind. It’s a nice monochrome laser printer of modest size but with good performance on the printed by with the Samsung ML 1710PD printer toner.  It’s also very nicely priced, costing only around $50 or so. In fact, that’s precisely the price a certain very popular consumer website is currently listing the Samsung at these days. It would seem that Samsung has done its work well.

Samsung has constructed this particular ML printer to be a personal model, which means that it’s fairly compact. In addition, it’s also somewhat stylish and is easy to install, as well as being quite capable of delivering very nice print quality. Samsung has built in a great deal of versatility in terms of the operating systems it can operate with, and most people who’ve used it invariably compliment it on its speed of printing.

The ML weighs in at a trim 15 pounds and its compact size is evidenced by its size (14 by 14 by 8 inches). This can make the ML a perfect model for those needing an unobtrusive printer to sit on a small computer desk or bookshelf, out of the way but still capable of deliver high performance when needed. There’ll certainly be little trouble in moving it around, and the performance characteristics shine through at every turn.

Print speed in this Samsung comes in at a fairly quick 16 pages per minute in A4 paper size and an even better 17 pages per minute when it comes to ‘A’ size media stock. As far as what the printer can produce copy on, it handles just about all the common media stock that most anybody with a need for a printer will require. This includes card, envelope, labels, plain paper and transparencies.

There’s only a single way in which the Samsung can be joined to a computer and that’s through its well-working USB 2.0 port. Given that it’s the most popular form of wired connective technology, it’ll be the case that there’ll be little to complain about on this front. There’s no included USB cable though, so one will have to purchase a separate one (it does come with a toner cartridge and an easy-to-follow setup guide, though).

When it comes to print quality, the Samsung measures up well, offering 600 dots per inch of resolution. At this level, the print that emerges will look nicely sharp and of high quality. Its print engine helps to ensure that the paper will stand out and with no evidence of blurring, smearing or any other artifact. This is somewhat surprising, given the printer’s cost and the fact that printers at this price point aren’t usually as capable as the Samsung.

Samsung has built the ML to handle about 250 pages of pager in its storage tray, and an output tray comes with the printer as well. Its Samsung ML 1710PD toner cartridges is ample enough, at about 3,000 sheets and it has a monthly duty cycle that comes in at 15,000 pages, meaning that there’ll be little cause to call in a maintenance technician to perform much service work.

When considering the Samsung ML 1710PD printer, consider that one will be getting an inexpensive model for Samsung that’s also compact, not a little stylish and capable of delivering very good print quality at a high rate of speed. It can work off of most operating systems, including even the Linux suite. This is in addition to Apple Mac 8.6 and later Oss, as well as most Microsoft platforms. In short, Samsung has done a nice job on the ML.

The Samsung ML 1710PD printer toner cartridges will do a nice job for the user, stopping the need for expensive reprints.  Quality Samsung toner always shows through in the final product and when ordering toner you will find great prices online.
